July 21st
This week the children have been looking at ways that we move. The focus is on the less obvious body movements for example, heart beat, blinking, breathing etc. During the computer session this week the children made a mini movie using Pivot Sticks.

Our sound this week is Bb and we have been been looking at ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, last etc) in Maths.

Term 3 Welcome
Welcome back to all of our families. This term our main topic for investigation is to be "On the Move". This will involve looking at how we move our bodies, pushing and pulling forces and tools that we use to make our work easier.
This term the school is putting on "Kids on Broadway" the Preps have started to learn their songs and will spend time each day rehearsing. The costume will be very simple, we will let you know the details later.
Word lists:- this term we will focus on the M100Words. Most children are on Gold level at the moment. We will be testing the children regularly so keep practising.
Room 2 has new carpet. The room is looking fantastic. We are asking the children to take their shoes off before they enter the rooms.

Maths-Money
This week we are investigating money as part of out Maths program. Some of the activities that the children have participated in are:- setting up their own shop, making rubbings of coins, creating shopping lists and sorting coins.
Next time you go shopping you might like to let your child give the money and receive the change.
